We invest in the following sectors: media, professional services, clean technologies, natural resources and diversified.

The group is made possible by a focused multi-skilled team of professionals who provide integrated solutions across fundamental sectors. We partner with clients in all sectors and regions to identify their highest-value opportunities; address their most critical challenges and transform their organizations. We focus our efforts and resources on four distinct, yet inter-related activities:

  1. Building cross sector partnerships for sustainable development

We leverage cross sector knowledge and resources in designing and piloting partnership approaches for sustainable development. The key sectors we work with include the civil, private, public and academic.

  2. Facilitating access to know-how and development resources

We work with individuals, groups and communities using participatory, human centred, place-based approaches to deliver sustainable livelihoods, enterprises and local economic development.

  3. Building local economies, enterprises, and livelihoods

We run annual competitions designed to identify, fund and develop high impact local environmental start-ups. By providing early stage companies with financial resources in seed capital, working space, training, and mentoring, we generate market returns and catalyse solutions to some of the world's most pressing environmental problems.

  4. Exploring strategies for sustainable development

We identify practical sustainable development pathways through case studies, partnerships and alliances. We develop and pilot projects within Sub-Saharan Africa working in collaboration with local and international partners.

Why a triple bottom line?

To address the following three critical challenges facing Sub-Saharan Africa:

  1. Sustainable economic growth

To facilitate wealth creation as a means of financing social programmes; as a spur to attracting investment; stimulating local entrepreneurial activities as the key for driving more people into the job market.

  2. Greater social equity

Both at the work place and in communities to ensure that large-scale inequalities are adequately addressed, and that society provides at least for all the basic needs of its people. Promoting personal well-being, social cohesion and inclusion as well as creating equal opportunities for all. Actively promoting effective participative systems of governance in all levels of society—engaging people's creativity, energy, and diversity.

  3. Environmental sustainability

To emphasize respecting the limits of the planet's environment, resources, and biodiversity—to improve our environment and ensure that natural resources needed for life are unimpaired and remain so for future generations
